JavaScript: Programming (Second Edition) is a hands-on training course that will teach students how to program using this powerful Internet-oriented programming language. This is also a major part of the ABCO CIW Certification program. It is offered in two levels - basic and advanced.
Javascript is a scripting language that can be embedded in HTML code to create dynamic web pages without writing CGI scripts. Origninally called Livescript, Netscape renamed this language to take advantage of the success of Java. There are many similarlities between Java and Javascript, but they are two disctinct languages. In many respects, Javascript is more similar to perl than to Java. Nevertheless, Javascript is powerful partner to both Java and Perl as a tools for web programming. Javascript is the client-side counterpart to Netscape's Livewire which uses the same language on the server-side.
